Students honor veterans

The Armed Forces Club from Mount Carmel Area High School honored veterans from Mount Carmel Apartments on Veterans Day. The veterans received a gift and expressions of gratitude, and they and the students were treated to lunch by tenants and staff. 1-vehicle crash SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - A Winfield woman escaped injury after losing control of her car on Route 61 just south of Holly Road Saturday, according to state police at Stonington. Dahnya N. Heim, 32, was heading north on Route 61 around 4:44 p.m.
