KULPMONT - The Kulpmont Cougars "A" team capped an undefeated season Saturday, Nov. 7, by defeating the Lykens Tigers, 26-6, in the Super Bowl of the Anthracite Midget Football League.

In the championship game, Brett Zosh had touchdown runs of 18 and six yards. Joey Bergan hauled in a 24-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Dominic Farronato and Treyvon White caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Farronato.

Michael Gilger and White had interceptions for the Cougars. Also playing well on defense were Dylan Patrick, Glenn Barwicki and Bergan.

The following are the results from the Coguars' regular-season games:

Cougars 30 Line Mountain 0

Brett Zosh had a 50-yard touchdown run, while Michael Gilger added a 48-yard touchdown run. Treyvon White scored on a 25-yard run and added a 40-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Dominic Farronato. Farronato added a 30-yard touchdown run.

Excellent defense was played by Glenn Barwicki and Dylan Patrick.

Cougars 12 Pine Grove 0

Gilger returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown and hauled in a 40-yard touchdown pass from Farronato. Barwicki and Cody Little played great defense.

Cougars 24 Millersburg 0

Luke Holleran had a five-yard touchdown run. Gilger scored on a 72-yard run and a 38-yard pass reception from Farronato. Zosh added a 31-yard touchdown run. Excellent defense was played by Jesse Seebold and Patrick.

Cougars 20, Lykens 8

Gilger scored touchdowns on a 70-yard run and 55-yard punt return. Zosh scored on a 45-yard pass reception from Farronato. Barwicki and Logan Maloney were credited with excellent defensive games.

Cougars 26 Line Mountain 14

Treyvon White had a 35-yard touchdown run and Zosh added a 14-yard touchdown run. Gilger tallied touchdowns on a 45-yard run and eight-yard run.

Nick Bozza recorded an interception. The offensive line comprised of Michael Kaminsky, Barwicki, Seebold, Patrick and Dylan Combs had an excellent game.

Cougars 6 Pine Grove 0

Gilger hauled in a 25-yard touchdown pass from Farronato with about two minutes left in the game. Excellent defense was played by White, Zosh and Holleran.

Cougars 28 Millersburg 7

Gilger registered a 55-yard punt return for a touchdown and also ran back a kickoff 62 yards for another score. White had a 33-yard touchdown run and Zosh added an eight-yard touchdown scamper.

Michael Pupo had an interception. Barwicki and Seebold dominated on the defensive line.

Cougars 13, Lykens 0

Gilger scored on a 20-yard reception from Farronato with two seconds left in the first half and added an eight-yard touchdown run.

Excellent defense was played by Maloney, Zosh and White.
