Weather forces changes to local sports schedule

Expectations of Friday's snowstorm caused postponement of the day's area sports schedule, as well as some of today's.

Friday's postponed events, with makeup dates if available, were:

* Boys basketball - North Schuylkill at Pottsville, no makeup date.

* Girls basketball - Lourdes at Minersville, no makeup date; Southern Columbia at Loyalsock, no makeup date; Upper Dauphin at Line Mountain, no makeup date; Mount Carmel at Central Columbia, today, 6 p.m.

* Wrestling - Schuylkill Haven at Mount Carmel, Feb. 13, 6 p.m. The home match with Panther Valley has been switched from Feb. 13 to Feb. 15 (7 p.m.)

Today's postponements, as of Friday evening:

* Boys basketball - Shamokin at Shikellamy, from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Mount Carmel at Hughesville, from 7:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

* Wrestling - Mount Carmel at Upper Dauphin, to Tuesday, Feb. 9, 7 p.m.

In addition, the District Four Dual Meet Tournament, scheduled for 11 a.m. at Milton, has moved up its starting time to 3 p.m. AA quarterfinals will be at 3, followed by semifinals at 5:30 and the AA and AAA championships at 8 p.m.
