Little League Registration
Any child ages 4-12 residing in the Shamokin Area or Mount Carmel Area School Districts may register to play Little League Baseball. Registration for players and coaches will be Feb. 16 and 23, 10 a.m. to noon, and Feb. 27, 7-9 p.m. at the Miller Donmoyer Family Health Center, 255 W. Spruce St., Shamokin. All players must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and any player new to the league must bring the child's original or
state-certified birth certificate. Fee is $25 for the first child and $15 for each additional child in the same family. After Feb. 27, the fee is $40 for the first child and $20 for each additional child in the same family.
Cabrini Junior League Baseball
Registration for all new and returning players ages 4-12 will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, noon to 3 p.m., at Rob's Goodtime Grille, Market and Spruce streets, for the 2013 baseball season. Registration fee is $20 per child. To be eligible to play in our league, children must either attend the Shamokin Area School District or reside in Shamokin, Coal Township or Zerbe Township. All rostered players from last season must attend this registration or notify their manager if they plan on returning this season. Cabrini Teener Baseball
Registration for all new and returning players, ages of 13 to 15, Saturday, Jan. 26, noon to 3 p.m., at Rob's Goodtime Grille, Market and Spruce streets, for the 2013 baseball season. Registration fee of $20 per child and a uniform fee of $30 must be paid at the time of registration. For more information, contact Shawn Kalinoski at 648-0526.
CYO Night at Lourdes
Lourdes will open its doors for free for its game against Williams Valley, Friday, Feb. 8, to all CYO players and coaches, although it asks everyone to bring one canned good or non-perishable food item for Manna for Many. There will also be 'D' Division games held. During halftime of the junior varsity game, Holy Rosary will play Mount Carmel Catholic, between the JV and varsity games, Holy Rosary will play Holy Angels, and during the varsity halftime, OLOH, Mother Cabrini and Holy Angels will take the floor. All CYO players and coaches will also receive a free drink and a hot dog. The night had been originally scheduled for Jan. 12.
Coal Region Heat
A $20 night all-you-can-eat-and-drink fundraising event will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Atlas American Legion to benefit the Coal Region Heat traveling baseball team. Doors open at 6 p.m. There will be a DJ along with Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle and door prizes. Call 205-2248 for advance tickets or purchase at the door.
Lady Bombers Girls Softball League
The SCT Lady Bombers Softball League, formerly the Shamokin/Coal Township Girls Youth Softball league, will hold registration Jan. 19, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Shamokin Public Library. All girls ages 4-14 are invited to play. Girls from Mount Carmel and Kulpmont are eligible as well. New players must provide a copy of their birth certificate and a form of ID for their parent. Registration fee is $25 for U8, U10 and U12, and $35 for U14. Cost includes uniform and insurance fee. The league will also be having an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner, Saturday, Feb. 23 at Restoration Ministries Church Hall from 3 to 7 p.m. Cost is $8 per ticket and includes salad, spaghetti with meat sauce, bread, fruit cup, baked good and drink. Registration for spring 2013 season will be Friday, Jan. 25 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Shamokin. North Schuylkill Spring Physicals
North Schuylkill Jr./Sr. High School will be conducting its spring sports physicals on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 9 a.m. Any student interested in going out for baseball, softball or track, and who has not had a physical for a fall or winter sport, must get their physical at this time. There is a $10 fee for the physical. Students who have already had a physical for a previous sport must still sign up that day for the sport of their choice.
Little Shamokin Indians
Registration, Sunday, Feb. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at O'Brien's Pizza. Cost is $10 for one child or $15 for a family through the end of March. First-time players need to provide a copy of their birth certificate. Players ages five and up are eligible to participate. A meeting will follow the registration time. Elysburg K of C Free Throw Contest
All boys and girls between 10 and 14 are invited to participate in the local Knights of Columbus free throw championship, Sunday, Jan. 20 at 5 p.m. at the Ralpho Gym. There will be free refreshments and prizes will be awarded. For more information, contact Brian at 672-3278.
Shamokin Youth Softball
Open gym practice for youth girls softball ages eight to 14 of the Shamokin Area School District will be held at the annex gym on the following Sundays: Jan. 27, Feb. 10, Feb. 24 and March 10. Girls ages eight to 10 will meet from 4 to 5:15 p.m. and girls 11 to 14 will meet from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. All girls must attend the Shamokin Area School District.

The Bernie Romanoski Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame will meet Thursday, Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. in Brewser's Sports Grille instead of the originally scheduled meeting on Saturday, Jan. 19.
South Columbia Registration
