SYBL Skills Workout

Keystone Chapter Foootball Officials

The Keystone Chapter of PIAA football officials will meet on the following dates at 7 p.m.: Oct. 16 and Oct. 30. There is a dinner meeting Sunday, Nov. 18 at the Independence Fire Co. The PIAA requires officials attend at least six chapter meetings.

MCA Supper Club

Mount Carmel Area Supper Club will hold its fall suppers at Mattucci's Thursdays at 6:15 p.m. The club will continue as long as the Red Tornadoes are playing this season.

Gridiron Wars Alumni Game

Players are being sought to gauge interest for an alumni football game between Shamokin and Mount Carmel for alumni ages 18-55. Teams must have 30 players registered to participate. Hall of Fame Teams

The Bernie Romanoski Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame will induct several teams during a breakfast program at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Masser's Banquet Hall, Paxinos. Teams to be honored include the 1959, 1960 and 1961 Shamokin Greyhounds District 4 basketball champions, the 1962 and 1963 Coal Township Purple Demons basketball squads that finished 38-1, Shamokin Area's 1987 District 4 baseball champions, Southern Columbia's 1994-1995 basketball team that captured the Mid-Penn League title and District 4 championship, and Lourdes Regional's 1983 softball team that posted the only undefeated regular season in school history. Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk

Shamokin Rotary Club Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk will be held Thursday, Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. at Kemp Memorial Stadium. Pre-entry fee is $15 ($10 age 19 and under). Race day entry fee is $25. Shamokin Winter Sports Physicals

Friday, Nov. 9 the Shamokin Area Middle/High School will hold physicals for winter sports athletes. Any students who plans on participating in a winter sport should attend. If any student has already had a physical for the fall, they must still complete a recertification paper. Physicals will be done by Dr. Miller for $20, cash only, and must be paid at time of physical. Time schedule is as follows: junior high girls basketball, 1 p.m.; junior high boys basketball, 1:15; junior high wrestling, 1:30; varsity girls basketball, 1:45; swimming, 2 p.m.; cheerleaders, 2:15 and boys basketball, 2:30. Forms can be obtained on the school website or in the high school principal's office and must be completed by Nov. 9.

Advance tickets for Friday's Mount Carmel at North Schuylkill football game will be on sale at both schools this week. Tickets will be available at North Schuylkill from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. through Friday, and at Mount Carmel 1 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $3 for students, $5 for adults.

Keystone Wounded Warriors Benefit

Keystone Wounded Warriors open house and benefit, Sunday, Oct. 28, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Keystone Fish and Game Association, Irish Valley.
