Speedway's Icebreaker gets sponsor

SELINSGROVE - Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships will be the sponsor for the sixth annual weekend of modified racing at Selinsgrove Speedway March 15 and 16.

Officials from the speedway, promoter JGK Motorsports and the Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour made the announcement of what will now be called the Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships RoC Icebreaker Weekend.

The Montoursville-based company employs more than 500 people.

"We are very excited in having Alexander Family Dealerships partnering with our weekend of exciting Race of Champions Modified racing," said Joe Kaminski Jr. of JGK Motorsports. "The Alexander name has a long history of involvement with motorsports, especially here at the Selinsgrove Speedway."

For many years the Alexanders sponsored the 410 Sprint Car National Open and returned to sponsoring racing at the track last year when it sponsored the June RoC Modified race.

The sponsorship will enable the Saturday portion of the weekend to pay $5,000 to win for the 40-lap race.

"The Selinsgrove Speedway has a rich history and we are very proud to continue to be a part of that rich history," said Matt Lutze, chief operating officer for Blaise Alexander.

The race has a March 17 rain date.
