Spartans 6th in D-11 'AA'

North Schuylkill finished sixth in team points at the District 11 Class AA wrestling championships and advanced five wrestlers to next week's Southeast Regional.

Auston Hummel (160) and Tanner Dean (220) each won third-place bouts, while Shane McGrath (120), Jordan Shinkus (138) and C.J. Steinhilber (182) won fifth-place matches.

Hummel pinned Lehighton's Connor Frey in 3:34 for his victory. Shinkus also pinned Notre Dame Green Pond's Seever Hoyak in 4:05.

McGrath moved on after a technical fall against Jim Thorpe's Ali Capobianco.

Dean was a 5-3 winner over Palisades' Mike Roszkowski and Steinhilber also won by decision against a Palisades wrestler, 6-1 over James Donnelly.
