SELINSGROVE - Selinsgrove Speedway will kick off its 2010 season this weekend with a special Friday-Saturday twinbill featuring the 358 modifieds and big block modifieds.

Friday's show will consist of the 358 modifieds in a full program of heats, consolation races and a $2,200-to-win feature event, while Saturday's main event will consist of the big block modifieds of the Race of Champions Dart Dirt Modified Tour.

Gates will open Friday at 5 p.m., with a drivers' meeting at 6:40 and hot laps to follow. The first heat is slated for 7:30.

Time will be set aside for a practice session for the big block modifieds competing in Saturday's event.

On Saturday, gates will open at 2 p.m., with the drivers' meeting at 3:10 and racing to follow shortly.

Saturday's program will consist of heats, consolation races, cash dash, non-qualifiers feature and a 50-lap A-main guaranteeing at least $4,000 to the winner.

In case of bad weather, a Sunday rain date has been established.

Defending race winner Danny Johnson was one of the first to submit an early entry for this year's RoC Icebreaker 50.
