NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Southern Columbia graduate Cynthia Adams, a member of the Lebanon Valley College track and field team, secured All-America status, finishing in sixth place in the 800-meter run at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at North Central College.

Adams' time was 2:13.46 .

Competing in her third NCAA championship meet - but first indoors - Adams became just the second indoor all-American in LVC women's track and field history and first since Ann Musser in 1999. Adams made the eight-runner finals after a 2:13.06 time in prelims on Friday.

The four-time Middle Atlantic Conference 800-meter champion fell to the back of the pack off the start but stayed in contact, moving up two spots on the second lap and tucking in on the inside.

National champion Tara Clemens of Illinois Wesleyan and runner-up Carmen Graves of Roanoke pulled away quickly in the final 200 meters, and Adams finished in a pack with Deidre Dillman (Wisc.-Plattville), Maggie Fitter (Keene State), and Emily Warner (Washington U.).
