LANCASTER - Kellan Masser was 4-for-5, including a solo home run in a two-run ninth inning, to lead Line Mountain to a 9-7 extra-inning win over Lancaster Country Day Thursday.

Masser hit two doubles, scored three runs and drove in three as the Eagles improved their record to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in the Tri-Valley League.

Brady Michael, J.P. Lenker and Corey Paul all added two hits, with Lenker hitting two home runs. He drove in three runs and scored two. Corey Warford tripled and drove in two runs.

Zach Bobb got the win in relief of starter Warford and Michael, who worked six innings.

Line Mountain will play today in the Zalar Tournament at Shamokin.

Southern Columbia 10 Sullivan Cty. 0

LAPORTE - Blake Marks, Nate Hunter and Ken Fegley all had two hits and four pitchers combined to throw a no-hit shutout as the Tigers (6-1) downed Sullivan County on Thursday. The Tigers scored seven runs in the first inning.

Marks and winning pitcher Zach Tillett each doubled and Steve Toczylousky scored two runs.

Selinsgrove, Pottsville

win titles

MOUNT CARMEL - Selinsgrove's girls and Pottsville's boys won the team championships at Thursday's Gerald Breslin Relays. Selinsgrove scored 112 points to Pottsville's 65 for the girls title with Mount Carmel third (60). Southern Columbia was sixth (48), Shamokin ninth (32) and North Schuylkill 10th (30).

Pottsville had 89 points to top host Mount Carmel (75) and Southern Columbia, who tied for second with 75 points, for the boys title. North Schuylkill was 10th (22) and Shamokin 11th (19).

Selinsgrove's Alexis Auman won the girls triple jump with a jump of 33 feet, 11½ inches. That event ended too late for publication in Friday's News-Item. Southern Columbia's Bailey Bzdak (32-1) and Mackenzie Haladay (31-1½) were third and fifth, respectively.
