Eight area soccer players have been named to first team slots on various Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conferen division all-star teams as picked by the conference coaches.
Shamokin's Jon Deitrick, Ryan Rompolski and Matt Gass were all first-team Division II boys selections. In Division II girls, Southern Columbia's Teanna Shutt, Bailey Bzdak and Mackenzie Clark, and Mount Carmel's Tara Demko and Ali Varano were first team picks. In addition, Southern Columbia coach Derek Stine was named Coach of the Year.
Area second-team selections include Mount Carmel's Armando Chami and Paige Hornung; Southern Columbia's Dylan Swank, Nate Mitchell, Jeff Hall, Lauren Kerstetter, and Haley Levan.
