Klebon nominated as Hoop Historian

ATLANTA - Joe Klebon, a Paxinos resident and former boys basketball coach at Shamokin Area, has been nominated for induction into the Hoop Historians, a club whose mission is: "Sharing the past experiences of our members to promote the great game of basketball through education and goodwill."

Klebon is one of eight nominees, joining others from around the country. The group, with roots dating back to the 1960s, meets annually at the Final Four. Klebon has attended a total of 20 Final Fours in 1987, 1991, 1995-94 and 1996-2011. He won 581 career games and has been a 17-year member of the National Basketball Coaches Association and has been a certified basketball official for 29 years.
