Shawn Langdon (Top Fuel), John Force (Funny Car), Jeg Coughlin Jr. (Pro Stock) and Matt Smith (P/S Bike) scored wins in their respective classes Sunday, in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series' 29th annual Auto Plus Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway. The race was the fourth of six races in the 2013 NHRA Countdown to the Championship Chase.

Langdon scored his sixth win of the 2013 season, and extended his points lead by defeating 2012 World Champion, Antron Brown, in the T/F final. Langdon stopped the clocks with a 3.779 ET/323.81 MPH to Brown's losing 3.806/322.04.

A Fifteen-time world champion, Force took the points lead on the strength of his number one qualifying spot and scored his second consecutive win of the year by stopping rookie Chad Head in the F/C final. The win was the third of the season and 137th NHRA career win.

In the factory hot rods' finale, MOPAR teammates faced off in the finals. Coughlin used his slight starting line advantage to turn back Allen Johnson for his fourth 2013 victory. Although Johnson's numbers were better, 6.588/209.39, Coughlin's (6.616/208.75) holeshot proved to be the deciding factor.

The P/S Bikes featured a battle of former World Champion Matt Smith and 2012 Champion, Eddie Krawiec. Smith rode to his second straight win of the Countdown to the Championship and third of the season, by outrunning Krawiec, 6.936/193.32 to a losing 6.965/190.43.

With the exception of Langdon, the other three racers came into the Reading facility in second spot in the points chase, but will be heading to the Strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway (October 24-27) with the leads in their respective classes.
