COAL TOWNSHIP - Millersburg's Kaitlin Kelley scored two goals, including the go-ahead goal in the second half as the Indians defeated Lourdes 4-1 in Division II action in the Schuylkill League.

Lourdes' Annie Stewart tied the game when she redirected a throw in from Annie Seif at 21:08 in the first half.

Millersburg's Kimberly Hrochler added two insurance goals in the second half.

Hughesville 8 Shamokin 2

HUGHESVILLE - Shamokin's Brandi Segura scored two straight goals to tie the game in the first half, but Hughesville's Dana Schearer used a hat trick to lead the Spartans to a Heartland Conference Division II victory.

Nativity 6 North Schuylkill 1

Kiely Chaklos was pretty much unstoppable Wednesday.

The Nativity senior scored five goals in the Golden Girls' 6-1 Schuylkill League Division I girls' soccer victory over North Schuylkill atop Lawton's Hill.

Chaklos scored the first two goals of the game, at 7:34 and 22:51, to give Nativity a 2-0 lead. In the second half, she scored at 46:25, 52:30 and 59:59 to help the Golden Girls pull away.

Elizabeth Greis added the other goal for Nativity, while Dominique Reinoehl scored for North Schuylkill.

Line Mountain 6 Upper Dauphin 0

ELIZABETHVILLE - Line Mountain's Mikhail Whitcomb netted a hat trick in the Eagles' Schuylkill League victory over Upper Dauphin.

Tia Kissinger added two goals, and Amber Shrawder chipped in another for Line Mountain. Goalkeeper Maggie Coleman kept out the only shot she faced for the shutout.

Girls Cross Country

North Schuylkill 15 Marian 50

HOMETOWN - Caitlyn Deeter won in 22:58 as North Schuylkill took the first eight places to defeat Marian 15-50 in a non-league meet.

Molly Balliet was Marian's top runner, placing ninth in 25:25.

Boys Cross Country

North Schuylkill 17 Marian 42

HOMETOWN - The Schuylkill League entered this season looking for a new boys' ace.

Brendan Shearn is making a strong case to become that new No. 1. Coming off a victory at Saturday's Purple and White Invitational, the North Schuylkill sophomore set a course record Wednesday, covering Marian's 3.1-mile circuit in 16 minutes, 51 seconds.

Shearn's win, plus Devin Mashack and Jake Wallace finishing 2-3, lifted the Spartans to a 17-42 non-league win.

Phil Marzen led the Colts, finishing fourth in 20:57.
