H.S. SPORTS: Southern Columbia softball tops Benton
CATAWISSA RR - Abbey Herr fired a one-hitter, leading Southern Columbia past Benton 12-0 in five innings in Heartland III softball action Monday.
Herr and Jadyn Dunkelberger drove in two runs apiece with two singles each, with Angie Vought plated three runs with a double. Haley Levan contributed two singles.
Herr struck out six and walked only one for the Tigers (7-1).
St. John Neumann 15 Lourdes 10
MOUNT CARMEL - Trailing 9-4 after four innings, Neumann ralled for five runs in the fifth and six in the sixth to register the non-league victory.
Angelique Pennypacker had three hits for the Red Raiders. Caity Funk, Gabby Long and Karley Spangler added two hits each, including a double each for Funk and Long. Peyton Klembara contributed a triple.

MANDATA - Bre Boyer knocked in five runs with a double and single, leading the Eagles (4-3) to the non-league victory over the Ironmen.
Joelle Snyder added two doubles and a single, driving in a run, and Brooke Long and Myah King contributed a double each.
Maddie Reed was the winning pitcher.

SELINSGROVE - Aidan Greak was 2-for-3 and Isaiah Rapp limited
Southern to five hits.
John Wilson gave up five hits for Southern (6-2) in taking the loss.
FOUNTAIN SPRINGS - Alex Hummel hit a grand slam with two outs in the second inning as North Schuylkill blanked Shamokin in a non-league game.
Alex Wiley struck out eight batters and pitched a complete game to get the win for the Spartans.
