MANDATA - Cory Warford carried the ball 24 times for 195 yards and four touchdowns, and Hunter Hojnacki added 128 yards on 13 attempts as Line Mountain piled up 439 yards on the ground to defeat Halifax, 41-0, on Homecoming Night at Eagle Stadium.

Warford scored on touchdown runs of eight and 12 yards in the first half, then scored on runs of 15 and 12 yards in the third quarter as the Eagles raised their record to 2-4 overall and picked up their first Tri-Valley League win. Halifax fell to 0-6.

The Eagles scored on an eight-play. 53-yard drive, all on the ground, with Warford scoring on an eight-yard run.

Quarterback Ryan Reed, who added 62 yards rushing, scored on a seven-yard run in the second quarter to complete a seven-play, 70-yard drive, the big play being a 32-yard run from Reed to the Wildcats' 38.

But the Wildcats, who lack

depth, kept the Eagles close most of the first half with a solid short passing game from freshman quarterback Mason Erdman to junior Jarrett Hoy.

Warford scored on a 12-yard run with 24.2 seconds left in the half to give the Eagles some breathing room, although Erdman completed two quick passes before the half ended with Halifax on Line Mountain's 19.

Warford broke the game open with a 15-yard toouchdown with 4:33 left in the third quarter to complete a 29-yard drive after Halifax went for a fourth-and-one and failed.

Warford later scored on a 12-yard, then added a 36-yard run on his final carry, setting up an 11-yard touchdown run by Cory Paul.
