MANDATA - Freshman Falconer Walshaw-Wertz scored two goals and Kyle Dyer one to lead Line Mountain to a 3-1 boys soccer win over Lourdes Regional Tuesday in Schuylkill League Division II action.

The Eagles (1-1) had a 2-0 halftime lead.

Corey Honabach scored for Lourdes (0-1).

Mike Hinkley had 18 saves for the Eagles, and Kyle Madison nine for the Red Raiders

Danville 3, Shamokin 0

DANVILLE - Danville had three different players score a goal as the Ironmen shutout Shamokin.

Jon Deitrick made 12 saves in goal for the Indians.

Golf

SCA wins at home

ELYSBURG - Southern Columbia, led by medalist Zach Malett with a 76, won the Heartland Conference Division III match up out of seven total schools at Knoebels Three Ponds Golf Course.

Other golfers for Southern Columbia were Taylor Kreisher (78), Kristian Klebon (88), Chris Medon (89) and Zach Snyder (93).

As a team, Southern Columbia scored a 424, followed by Warrior Run (441), South Williamsport (448), Bloomsburg (494), Benton (567), Saint John Neumann (574) and Sullivan County (600).

The Tigers are currently in second place in the division, and their next tee time is Thursday at Shamokin against the Indians and Bloomsburg at Indian Hills.

Shamokin goes 1-6

SELINSGROVE - Shamokin was led by Mike Spade with an 86, and the Indians scored a 507 as a team.

Others scoring for the Indians were Dave Coller (93), Bryant Tomcavage (96), Theo Deptula (114) and Dylan Dombroski (118).

Midd-West (425) - Ben Snyder (82), Zach Stuck (85), Adam Winey (85), Blake Zechman (85), Chris Will (88).

MOWRY - North Schuylkill's Derrick Reese shot a 70 to lead all golfers and help the Spartans to a Schuylkill League victory.

Volleyball

Lourdes 3, Millersburg 0

MILLERSBURG - The Red Raiders swept three games from Millersburg but had to battle hard to do it, winning 25-10, 30-28, 25-22.

"Millersburg is greatly improved," said Lourdes coach Kevin Collins. "Ali Singh, our libero, had one of the best defensive games I've had in three years as coach."

Molly Loftus had seven kills for the Red Raiders, and Kayla Conetta had three kills and four blocks. Elen O'Donnell had three kills, Cassie Senoskie had 20 assists and 13 service points, and Nikki Komara had 16 service points.

Tri-Valley 3 Mount Carmel 0

HEGINS - Mount Carmel dropped its Twin Valley League opener to the Bulldogs, 25-9, 25-10, 25-6.

For the Red Tornadoes (0-1), Christine Mrozek had six blocks, Maura Frasch two kills and three blocks, Kayla Shamus seven digs and five assists; Nicole Fiamoncini 10 assists and Calie Hummel seven assists.

Halifax 3, Shamokin 0

COAL TOWNSHIP - Shamokin took Halifax to extra points in the first set but lost 28-26, and the Indians dropped the next two sets, 25-18 and 25-20 to lose the Schuylkill League matchup.

Kelsey Yacko led the Indians with nine kills, Angela Bainbridge added five kills, and Anna Summers dished out 15 assists.

Halifax JV won 2-1 (22-25, 25-16, 25-13).
