Big Diamond, following a loss to Mother Nature last Friday night, returns to action tonight with its first-ever "Fandemonium" event, which offers free general admission to all fans on the grandstand side of the track for its three division show of 358 modifieds, sportsman and roadrunners.

Plenty of other notes of interest for the fans include driver meet and greet and autograph sessions, door prizes, race cars on display and much more. Gates open at 5 p.m. and racing begins at 8:15 at the Schuylkill County oval.

Returning to action following last weekend's mid-season break, Selinsgrove Speedway hosts the Jeff's Auto Body and Recycling Center Driver and Fan Appreciation Night with a four division show of 358 sprint cars, late models, pro stocks and roadrunners.

Jeff and Kathy Kurtz, owners of Jeff's Auto Body and Recycling Center, are huge supporters of auto racing and Selinsgrove Speedway, and the Driver and Fan Appreciation Night is one of the biggest events of the season at the fast half-mile.

Fans and competitors alike will receive door prize tickets and free food vouchers as they enter the speedway, and driver autograph sessions will kick off the night's activities.

Plenty of door prizes for the youngsters, including bikes and toys, along with a Chinese auction, while gas cards, gift cards and cash prizes await the adults. Gates open at 5 and racing begins at 7:30.

The World of Outlaws return to central Pennsylvania, home of the Pa. Posse for the two-day "Summer Nationals" show at Williams Grove Speedway, tonight and Saturday. The Posse versus The Outlaws rivalry is arguably the fiercest of any across the United States; both sides look to claim superiority over their rivals.

The early visit in May of this year by the Outlaws at Williams Grove found WoO champion Donny Schatz gracing victory lane, so the Pa. stars will look to avenge. Pennsylvanian Cody Darrah, driver for Kasey Kahne Racing on the Outlaw tour, claimed the Summer Nationals win last year. Gates open at 5 p.m. each night and racing begins at 7:30.

Darrah's Kahne Racing teammate, Brad Sweet, kicked off the "Month of Money" tour, winning $50,000 in the 30th annual King's Royal at Eldora Speedway on Saturday night, while Schatz and WoO points leader, Daryn Pittman each scored Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup Sprint feature wins at Lernerville Speedway in western Pennsylvania Tuesday night. The feature wins were worth $10,000 each, while Schatz earned an extra $5,000 as the overall Silver Cup champion.

The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series returns to action this weekend for the first of three races in part of the grueling "Western Swing," as the tour heads to Bandimere (Col.) Speedway for the 34th annual MOPAR Mile High Nationals, the 14th of 24 events on the 2013 schedule.

ESPN2 will provide two hours of qualifying action Saturday at 8 p.m. and three hours of eliminations at 6 p.m. on Sunday evening. Defending event winners are Antron Brown (Top Fuel), Jack Beckman (Funny Car), Allen Johnson (Pro Stock) and Eddie Krawiec (P/S Bike).

Local racers continue to find success at Numidia Dragway, as Mike Mackey of Paxinos scored the street crown last weekend and Joie Krushinskie of Shamokin was the super pro winner.

NOTES…Lincoln and Port Royal speedways are closed this weekend, while Grandview Speedway presents the 358 modifieds, sportsman and limited late models, along with last week's makeup feature for the limited lates.
