2 earn college football honors

Mount Carmel Area graduate Chris Steck and Southern Columbia graduate Ken Schetroma each received postseason honors this year for their play on the football field.

Steck, a junior co-captain and starting center on the Bloomsburg University offensive line, was named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East first team for the second consecutive season.

He was part of a unit that allowed only seven quarterback sacks all season and has helped to account for a ground game that averages more than 320 yards per game, first in the conference for the second straight season.

Schetroma, a senior co-captain and starting defensive lineman at Susquehanna University, earned All Centennial Conference first-team honors after being a second-team selection last year.

This season, he had 51 tackles, including 10 for losses and 1½ sacks. He also had the first interception of his career, broke up four passes, forced two fumbles and recovered one.
