It might give Southern Columbia fans pause to hear head coach Jim Roth say that the team on the Tigers' regular season schedule that tonight's PIAA Class A quarterfinal opponent, Tri-Valley, reminds him of most is Selinsgrove.

Relax, the Bulldogs are not the same caliber of team as the 13-0 Seals, the top-ranked AAA team in the state. By the same token, Tri-Valley is not the same caliber of team as last week's overmatched Tiger victims, Northwest Area.

Tri-Valley, like Southern 9-4, should be a serious test for the Tigers. Ten years ago, the same teams met in the state playoffs and had a whale of a game, with Southern winning, 29-22.
