Shamokin man charged with arson in Monday night city fire
SHAMOKIN - A 22-year-old Shamokin man is being charged with arson and other crimes in connection with a fire at a three-story apartment building in Shamokin Monday night.
James L. Neidlinger Jr., last known address of 203 E. Dewart St., was being arraigned as of about 2:10 p.m. Tuesday at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Shamokin, on two arson-related counts, both felonies, and a felony count of risking a catastrophe. He faces a handful of other charges as well.
Monday night's fire followed two on Thursday in the same neighborhood, and two others from nearby that occurred in September, all at abandoned buildings.
