SNYDERTOWN — A U.S. Postal Service panel truck and a pickup truck delivering newspapers collided shortly before 7 a.m. on Snydertown Road (Route 4012) near the borough.
The mail truck, driven by Dana Krause, 22, of Middleburg, was traveling east when the pickup truck, driven by Samuel Griffith, 56, of Northumberland, pulled from a stop sign on Bellas Hollow Road into its path, according to police at the scene.
The pickup was hit broadside and pushed about 30 feet from the intersection. Griffith, who was delivering The Daily Item, had neck and shoulder injuries, police said.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged and towed from the scene, the mail truck by Sunbury Motors and the pickup by Jeff’s Auto Body.
State police trooper Daniel Wilk investigated.
