THROOP, Pa. (AP) — Officials in northeastern Pennsylvania say a basketball game was suspended and the high school building evacuated after a threat.
School officials say 900 people were evacuated from Mid Valley High School on Monday night and the game against Holy Cross High School was suspended after students alerted them of the threat posted on Twitter shortly before 7 p.m.
Law enforcement officials searched the building and police say they have an 18-year-old "person of interest."
Superintendent Randy Parry says the tweet said "harm would be done" if there was fighting between students after the game.
There was about four minutes left in the first quarter when the decision was made to suspend the game. It's scheduled to resume Tuesday night, with Holy Cross leading 9-8.
