Voters give nod to MCA, Southern football
Online now: Would you vote for a candidate for public office who is known to have been repeatedly delinquent on tax payments?
Last week's question: What local high school football team do you think has the best shot at making the state playoffs in 2010? (Note: The poll was reposted after the first two days because voters could not select one of the original five choices.)
Line Mountain: 58 votes (19.73 percent).
Mount Carmel: 101 votes (34.35 percent).
Shamokin Area: 34 votes (11.56 percent).
Southern Columbia: 101 votes (34.35 percent).
Total votes: 294
Coal Township
Southern may have the most losses during the regular season, but still advance the furthest in the state playoffs. Line Mountain should have the best regular season, but may come up a little short of the state playoffs. Mount Carmel will make the state playoffs, but lose in the first round. Shamokin Area may make the district playoffs with a losing record, but not make the state playoffs. If the Indians can find some help from the underclassmen to fill in the weaknesses of the last two years, and the letterwinners improve, the Indians could surprise.
