To the editor: Children Charities of the St. Pauline Center netted a profit of $3,000 from its first benefit auction on June 1. This was realized through the generosity of community donated items and cash contributions.

Because of this support, the center will have the auction again next year in May or June.

The support of volunteers, including auctioneers the Moncavage Family, and the Healing Heart of Jesus Society, was a contributing factor to the success of the auction. The bidders in the audience got some great deals, but they received greater rewards in knowing they helped the children of our community. We also thank The News-Item for its coverage.

The center would like to thank all those who contributed to the success of the auction.
