Always Froggy

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is the funniest show in the world. I am so glad that you put that in today's Sound Off. Did you see the one last week? It was pretty funny with the wrestling and how they dressed up as eagles. This changes my opinion of you completely. You are a cool guy. I am glad you like "It's Always Sunny." Frog's take: Rowdy Roddy Piper was great in that wrestling episode. I hope he becomes a regular.

Post-haste

Your paper reported that the Mount Carmel Council did not have the right to fire the employees that are listed in the paper here in Mount Carmel. Further, you reported that they were told to keep their mouths shut. I would like to comment that this is neither Nazi Germany nor Soviet Russia. They are elected officials, and they are to report to the voters. As a tax-paying and voting resident of Mount Carmel, I demand that the council explain their actions post-haste.

Surplus

Does anybody know what happened to the surplus food giveaways in Mount Carmel or in Atlas? I haven't seen anything in the paper this whole month.

Angelic voices

I would like to congratulate the Holy Angels choir for the wonderful job they did singing at the Vacillica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., along with many other choir members. They did a wonderful job. I would also like to say they did a beautiful job singing at Father Sheetz' funeral. It was wonderful.

Good, clean fun

Well, I am finally sitting back and watching the Halloween show of Lawrence Welk from 1975. What good, clean and fun entertainment. Why can't we have more entertainment like this today?

Great parade

Congratulations to all involved in the fantastic Shamokin Halloween parade. Also to the Shamokin and Coal Township residents and any out-of-town visitors. The crowd was great. It was a proud night for our communities.

Too much

How can PPL raise rates 30 percent when they are a profitable company paying a good dividend today? The economy cannot afford this kind of an increase. I wish the persons in the political field would make a comment on why this can happen.
