This whole deal with the bubble gun is getting all twisted in the media. Kudos to Principal Susan Nestico; she was only doing her job. If something bad would have happened, she would have been crucified wondering why the school did nothing after this alarming threat. Frog's take: We removed part of your call with the explanation of why the story is twisted. But we are interested in having a reporter speak to you. Call the newsroom at 644-6397, extension 5, if you are interested.
Piece of advice
This is for the Zerbe Township officials, a word of advice: Those who in family quarrels interpose, must often wipe a bloody nose.
Heads should roll
I think what happened at that Mount Carmel elementary school is utterly ridiculous and some heads should roll. Don't people have any common sense anymore?
Mouths of babes
The situation with the little girl in Mount Carmel is sad. It may seem extreme, but perhaps the school wasn't reacting so much to the Hello Kitty gun as they were to the statement that the little girl made. Her saying at the age of 5 that I am going to shoot you and myself so we can be together forever. Where might she have heard that?
Regard the headlines in the Shamokin paper, child of 5 suspended. That is no child; that is a baby. The parents ought to sue the pants all those people who are so crazy with political correctness. Good luck to the parents, and good luck to the little girl.
I am glad Mount Carmel Area kept the police officer in school. He is desperately needed to protect the students against the overzealous administration and teachers.
Feed your kids
Here is a suggestion for the person complaining about the breakfast menu at Shamokin Area: Get out of bed and feed your own kinds. That way the government won't have to, and you can give them whatever you want.
Somebody called in and said about the kids and the Shamokin Area breakfast menu. When did it become the responsibility of the taxpayers to feed your kids? My parents were poor and they gave us a good, healthy breakfast before we went to school. It is your responsibility as parents to feed your kids, not us.
What a nice tribute to Mrs. Beck. I personally did not know her, but I read the obituary and what a wonderful person she was. Trina, fill you mother's shoes and put honesty in there. Be as good as a person as your mother was. Follow Charles Shuey, you will be OK then.
Greg Maresca needs to give up his annual abortion rant. Abortion is the law of the land. It keeps the population and unemployment in control, and cuts down on our carbon footprint. He needs to wise up!
