Half a chance

To coin a phrase - they shoot horses - don't they? - with broken legs. They do the same with people who are broken in half. They shoot them, they kill them, they drive them nuts and they crucify them for being broke. Frog's take: Um, sure?

Virtual plow

This is about "parking problem." You mean there is actually a plow that comes through Den-Mar Gardens? Wow! Let us know next time to be aware so we can see it.

Old-fashioned

All right already. Let Dr. Kraynak go. He was only doing what he has done since he has become a physician - trying to attend to someone who was possibly injured. This is the only doctor in this area who is old-fashioned and takes anybody and anyone, no matter who you are. I don't know what is going on with this police or what kind of vendettas they have against him, but please stop it already. Get a job; he did.

Start your engines

This is for the Coal Township commissioners. On the corner of Walnut and Bay streets there is a white line for speeding. We never see a cop. NASCAR starts in February. We have been having NASCAR on Walnut Street for months. Send a cop out there and stop a couple of these students after 3 p.m. Then they will slow down.

Retaliation game

The action by the Justice Department filed against Standard & Poors is nothing more than retaliation against S&P for downgrading the United States credit rating, which they had good reason to do. Fear Obama and his Justice Department. Retaliation is always the name of the game with them.

Pin and run

I want to thank the older guy who was at Walmart Saturday night. He ran over my daughter and pinned her against my car. She is on crutches and in a lot of pain. You have a nice dark blue truck. The cops are looking at the video, and we will find out who you are.

Doggone good

This is for Stephanie and Mike. It is Judy Straub saying thank you very much for a great article and great pictures on Ed Straub and his puppy dog, Howie. Thank you very much. You did a good job, guys. Frog's take: You are most welcome. It was a great story to tell.

Corn nuts

I just watched this piece on ethanol in gasoline the other night on TV. If it is so bad for the gasoline engines, why are we being forced here to use it? I want to buy gas that doesn't have it in. Where can I get that? Frog's take: Thanks to our government I don't know that you can.

Removal machine

I am calling in reference to Dr. Kraynak's DUI. A prior principal from Mount Carmel Area received a DUI and he voted for her removal, so can somebody tell my why he is still on the school board?

No superiors

With all due respect to Joe Paterno and his legacy, I find it impossible to believe that he had no role in this cover-up with Sandusky. Reporting it to your superiors, as referenced in the article, simply isn't enough when it comes to a child predator. Another thing, at Penn State, Paterno had no superiors. He should have looked into this thing further and he didn't.
