What is best
I would just like to make a comment regarding Commissioner Clausi. Since The News-Item says that he is in such ailing health, he might as well do what is best. For not only his best interest, but the interest of the county citizens: Resign his position as Northumberland County commissioner. Frog's take: He just had surgery and is expected to recover.
About the care
Don't worry if your nurses are fat. Worry that they have the skills to take care of you when you need it the most. P.S. I am a fat nurse.
Coming to America
Vinny Clausi came to America with nothing but heart and created two successful businesses. To suggest he is not smarter than a fifth-grader is ridiculous. Consider the implications of your statement against his success and how he bested the well-read Mr. Stuck over and over again in litigation.
In infamy
Just a somber note that on Dec. 7, 1941, a lot of men lost their lives in the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Let us not forget these brave men and women who did lose their lives. So much is said about the bombing of Hiroshima; let us not forget that we did that because of this day.
Notably absent
I just wanted to say that I realize that The News-Item is a local paper; however, Dec. 7, which is such an important day in history, should have been in your headlines. Frog's take: We had an AP story and photo in the Dec. 8 edition with coverage of a Pearl Harbor ceremony from the previous day.
Kicking when down
Talking about kicking a guy in the head when he is down. Thank you, Mr. Clausi, you very recently had serious surgery and should be home recuperating. Instead, as ill as he is, made sure he made a press conference and now a meeting to state the facts. Shoch and now Gregory Stuck show absolutely no respect.
Help wanted
Vinny is asking the public for help. I'll gladly help you resign.
Gold mine
Finally the Northumberland County Career and Technology Center has a good group of board members that will be an asset to the school. I hope they get more involved with the administration. This school is a gold mine and needs people who really care about it.
Half-staff
Friday was Dec. 7, Pearl Harbor Day. I would like to know why the City of Shamokin's flags weren't flying at half-staff like the governor ordered.
Lawyer up
I believe Vinny is telling the truth about the DCED grant and the other issues. Rick Shoch is a lawyer and he knows how to twist the facts and make himself look good. I believe Vinny because he has always told the people the truth. He told the truth about the county budget when the politicians said he was wrong. Whenever Vinny stood up to the accusations from the politicians, after all the smoke cleared, we found out that Vinny was right and the politicians were wrong.
Flu by you
This is to the person that paid $400 for a flu shot at Geisinger. I went to CVS, and between my Medicare card and my secondary insurance, I did not pay a penny. Next year try CVS.
Beautiful display
I just would like to say thank you so very much to the people in Tharptown responsible for making such a beautiful Christmas display in the playground.
Look busy
Hard work and success are rewarded with higher taxes and government intrusion while slothful, lazy behavior is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicare and subsidized housing.
