Stranger danger

About Barry Adams: Is it not common knowledge that you shouldn't talk to strangers? The same goes for the Internet. Yes, it's unfortunate what happened to the victims, but they should have been smarter. If the man was being sexual to you over the Internet, he would be the same in real life. Stranger danger. Never accept a drink from a stranger.

Let it go

I read where Corbett is still trying to privatize the Lottery. Just how much of a percentage is he making on this deal that he won't let it go?

Good times

This is about the Atlas Legion wine, soupie and pasta contest. Great job again. I had a great time. I like those plaques. Although I didn't win this year, I am looking forward to next year.

Home rules

I think it should be a requirement that if you are a teacher at Shamokin Area School District, you should be required to live in the school district. I keep meeting young people hired by the Shamokin schools and the first thing they do when they get a regular paycheck is move out of the city. If the school district isn't good enough for their children, they shouldn't be teaching ours.

Dim bulbs

Wondering why we have to go on daylight saving time. It interrupts everything. Children can't get up for school, and they don't want to go to bed. Furthermore, there are no jobs around here. Nobody is working. We don't need daylight saving time. Frog's take: Well, if you don't work, who cares what time it is?

Sweatshops

Thank God Mitt Romney did not make it for president or we would have all of China over here working in sweatshops.

TV tax

So, Mr. Bartos, the city clerk of Shamokin, thinks I don't pay enough taxes. Now he wants to hide another tax in my cable bill. It is bad enough with the amount of tax now.

Any other name

I see they are putting aluminum roofs and sides around the junkyard downtown. I think if you put gold, silver or whatever you can find that is precious, it is still a junkyard and will stay a junkyard until you move the junk out of town.

An obstruction

Anybody who does any research realizes that we have a "do as I say" and not a "follow my example "president. Thankfully, we have an obstructionist Congress for our runaway spending.

The seeker

Someone mentioned a few days ago about jobs in Elysburg. I would like to know where the jobs are. As a job seeker, I am desperately trying to find a job somewhere.
