Under-performing

In addition to handling the "Hello Kitty" bubble gun situation very badly, I see now that Mount Carmel Area students can now apply for scholarships to other schools because the district is one of the under-performing schools.

You kidding?

I see where someone called Sound Off and encouraged Vinny to move the county seat to Shamokin. You've got to be kidding me. It's people like that caller who keep voting Vinny into office, and that is why we're where we are.

Coal train

It's nice to hear that coal trains are coming back. I remember in Mount Carmel when 300-car trains would come down Railroad Street and pull out with three engines just to make it up the hill. Trains gave the town life.

Way to go

Way to go, governor. The middle class pays again. Take from the middle class and give it to the high class. I don't see you guys taking any cuts.

Going down

I am calling about 'Clean it up.' The Mount Carmel code officer is not following up on complaints from the homeowners regarding the landlords who are renting out properties not up to code. Clean up the riff-raff. Our property value has been going down. What are we to do as home owners? We complain and nothing is being done.

Drone attack

I would like to know where all the callers are who called in about water boarding and how terrible we were and what a bad guy Bush was. Where are you now that the president is killing American citizens with drone attacks?

Staggering

The hypocrisy of Obama and the Democrats is staggering. Obama has no problem using drone strikes to kill Americans overseas who are suspected terrorists, but he had a huge problem when President Bush used water boarding against foreign terrorists.

Plea deal

I am saying this is as a concerned citizen. What kind of morons do we have running that judicial system? I read in the paper they left that idiot plead down to reckless burning. He burned down six properties. Intentionally burnt them down. We need to get new judges, new people and new control.
