Can't wait
To the person worrying about the Republican police state after the November elections: Will that mean a possible end to socialism, runaway spending and failed stimulus spending? If that is the case, I wish Nov. 2 was tomorrow.
Spell check
I just read about the monument soon to be erected honoring Belfanti. Somebody better see an English teacher about capitalization and punctuation before it goes to press. If not, it will certainly be an embarrassment to the town.
Real hero
It is true that Belfanti spent a lifetime protecting labor and the politically oppressed, but the monument deserves to go to the real hero who suffered his job leading a teacher's strike against Joe Warner.
Don't forget
This message is for Ron Tanney. I think you forgot Bob's penmanship award that he got from his teacher in first grade. You might want to recheck that list.
Meet the players
I would like to say a big thank you to Southern Columbia Area for a great meet-the-football players day that was held last Sunday. A delicious dinner was served and all the team was just super. Thank you to everyone for working so hard. We all had a wonderful time. Go Tigers!
'Fix Me'
I think it is time city council in Shamokin and the courts starts getting involved with the culvert issue at Rock and Water Streets in Shamokin. Frog's take: You probably saw Saturday's paper by now; they've been involved.
How to?
I would like to know how Tom Corbett is going to fix up the more than 6,000 bridges that are deteriorating and fix up the roadways that need fixing if he does not plan to raise taxes.
