Time to clean house

Frog, can someone in this area please do something about the drugs and crime? The cops don't arrest anyone, the judges let people out of jail like we're playing Monopoly. One person in the latest drug bust was in the paper last week for stealing a car. Stole a car, paid his $100 fine, back out on the streets. Now he's arrested in the drug bust. In the summer, the same person was in trouble with assault and breaking and entering. How can someone be out on the streets after something like that?

More taxes

Citizens For Patients Rights' really ought to re-evaluate what they're trying to accomplish. You can't ask for more sunshine without getting heat and light. In the same effect, you can't get better health-care coverage without more taxes.

Out of hand

Hello, Frog, I just wanted to say that the "In Our Opinion" today (Thursday) was very insightful. It's almost embarrassing that Shenandoah is so close to Shamokin, and such racial tensions are still so prevalent in our little towns. I find it interesting that, you know, some of these police officers in these boroughs become like little Hitlers and have no one overseeing them. ... Something must be done; it's getting out of hand.

Wonderin'

Just wonderin' when Shamokin Area is going to get rid of that new football coach, now that Mount Carmel Area got rid of their coach after a half-decent season.

Pig scumbag

OK, about Tiger Woods: No. 1, he's a pig (laughs). You won't print this I bet. And he has nine, they're going up to 13, women. What's going on with that guy? Who does he think he is? Anyway, he has a mortal sin, he's cheating on his wife and their baby is only 9 months old. What a pig scumbag.

Wise up

This is a message for Joe Lieberman. That man wants to wise up, or he'll never make re-election in his home state. Him and Mr. Reed. Thank you.

Greedy

Wall Street bankers are the greediest people on earth. The money they're getting with their bonuses; they're not worth it. They should put a high tax on their bonuses. Thank you.

Palin's problem

I'll tell you why Palin wants to speak at a hospital in Canada, where they have socialized medicine, where they do abortions and where they have the so-called death panels. Because she was going to be offered $200,000 to speak on behalf of St. Peter's Hospital in Canada. Now, of course, she's going to say that she didn't know that somebody set it up, and how was she supposed to know? It's always everybody else's fault. That's Palin's problem.

Increase our incomes

In a 10-minute court hearing, that 5 mills extra was needed for the 2010 budget for the city of Shamokin, and we also have a 1.455-mill increase in the recreation tax for a pool that's not even used by everybody in the summer. I'd like to see the people's income increase in 10 minutes for all the extra increases for a 2010 taxpayer.

MCA-udacity

I'm very sorry about the school board at Mount Carmel Area releasing Bob Chesney. He is a good person, a good coach and a dedicated coach, and he cared about the kids an awful lot. He'll be missed, and I can't understand the audacity of the school board to offer him an assistant coaching job after he was head coach.
