Hidden hand

I notice that this paper had a glowing report from Katherine Sebelius, head of the department of health. She told the AP reporters that if the new bill becomes law, Pennsylvanians would be able to buy insurance if they had a pre-existing condition. Too bad she didn't tell you the fine print. Yesterday at 6 p.m. on MSNBC, Howard Dean, the former head of the Democratic party, said he was disappointed that people with pre-existing conditions would be covered, but they would have to pay three times the regular rate. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. The government does the same, only it does it using the same hand.

Cartoon cats

The reason cats climb trees is so the stinking dogs don't kill them, not because the want to eat birds. Frog's take: Have you been watching Tom & Jerry?

Bet is on

Yeah, Frog, tell the guy sitting on the hill reading the newspaper that the bet is on. A hot dog, a hamburger and a ginger ale. You can find me in the library any time. Tell him to wear a red rose. Tell him that this is only the second inning. The game isn't over until the ninth. Frog's take: I'll have a red-cream soda.

It's time

Come on, community leaders and legislators. It is time to pass some laws on the cat problem in this area, not pass the buck.

Spewing garbage

Chris Matthews is a stupid little man. It is hard to believe that the network doesn't terminate him for the garbage that comes out of his mouth.

Cat chips

Cats don't have to have collars to be licensed. They can have a chip implanted, and that would take care of that. Also, money from the dog and cat licenses could go into the SPCA in that county, and everyone would be better off, including the cats.

'God save America'

Our smooth-talking leader in the empty business suit and the callers in Sound Off when ending with "God bless America" irritate me big time. America has been blessed for my 60 years on this Earth, but we still continue to take God out of everything. It is time someone said, "God save America."

Kulpmont pride

I would just like to say that last evening when I was driving through Kulpmont, I noticed their town park. It looks wonderful. I just wanted to say Kulpmont borough should be very, very proud, and they have a wonderful Christmas display. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.

Joy to Shamokin

What a joy it was Tuesday night to go down Independence Street and see all the new decorations. They are truly a boost to the town. Thank you to all the people who contributed and made this beauty possible. Frog's take: I am looking forward to seeing all those wonderful giant Christmas cards on Market Street as well.

Union push

I can't wait to see what the unions are going to do for the Northumberland County employees. The mighty union. Now let's see if they are going to let the county push them around, or if they are going to stick up for their employees.

This is in responce to (Joy to Shamokin) . I was just in Shamokin for Thanksgiving and what I saw downtown was vacant store's . This is not what I remember Shamokin was like when I Would come to vist my Grandparent's when I was younger . Every store was occupied , the street's were packed with shopper's , every parking stall was taken . The big treat was The Kopper Kettel with peanut's roasting in the front window . There is no joy in Shamokin any more . R.I.P Shamokin .
