State of women

I am just calling about the state of the women. It is hard to believe that so few show any pride in their appearance anymore. Come on, ladies, let's get with it.

Agrees

I agree completely with Mr. Griffiths about the Shamokin Area Middle School and High School PTA. Just because something is considered "proper spending" for a PTA doesn't mean it should be done. Too many gifts given as an "atta boy." Whatever happened to a simple "thank you so much for helping?" For several years, the elementary PTA heard nothing about the conferences that the middle and high school PTA went to other than what a great time they had and how wonderful the food was. Nothing about what they learned to help better the PTA and how it could benefit the kids. Kudos to the school board. It is time for new blood.

Clean up

Mr. Moser's idea of fining the people who need to clean up their property is a great one, now how about adding trimming trees or cutting down dead ones on their property? Every time there is a storm, there are branches lying on our cars and streets. When trees on other people's property dent my car, I have to pay the insurance deductible, not the owner of the tree.

Car wash

I want to thank the kind, patient gentleman who showed me how to use the automatic car wash.

Keep it down

Please, please, please people at the 5 C's Bar in Mount Carmel: keep it down! I live right by that bar on Oak, and I am so sick and tired of listening to the people hanging outside of the bar. Have a little respect for the people living by that bar!

Through the loop

I hope the district does testing when hiring, especially a bus driver. Was it just that this person slipped through the loop? She was in process of parking her bus for the day. Reports were saying there were no children on the bus. That is because she had already dropped them off. Thank God that they are safe, and I want to thank the person who reported her reckless driving.

Interesting?

The anticipated raise of the taxes in the Mount Carmel Area School District just couldn't happen to be related to the exhorbinate amount we are paying the football coach, now would it?

Maybe if the women of today wouldn't have to do everything in work and home life they could work on taking care of their appearance. How about it ladies???? You agree with me.... I see alot of men who need to take a second look in the mirror at themselves...

In regards to the paper today where the MCA school district is saying that they had no previous incidences with the bus driver in question... how are they saying no previous incidences when I myself called the school district reporting the same bus driver for driving eratically two weeks before she hit the sign? There were also six other parents of students on that bus that I know also called the school district about her and when I called Ms. Cheryl Latore could only tell me that there was nothing she could do about her because the bus company does the hiring not the school. Sounds like a cover up now for Ms. Latore. Not suprising though since they also covered up Ms. DUI principal.

There was stuff that Mr. Griffith's decided not to mention in the paper to make the PTA look bad. First off the money does go towards the students. The students do a fund raiser in January that money raised half goes to the candy sale person and the other half goes towards the Hershey trip that takes place in June. Second they give out scholarships to the students who are graduating. Third they give out graduation pins to all the seniors. Fourth they have RIF 3 times a year for the students. Fifth thing they do is they would have student of the month. Each month they would have 2 students and their picture would be in the paper. The members on the school board would complain but never took time out to come to the meetings and ask question nor did they ever come out to the bingos to help out and most of the time they would take a loss on the bingos due to the lack of support from the community part of it is due to the ecomony. The PTA members would also take time out to hold dances for the students to help raise money which at each dances would hold prizes during the Halloween dance they would give out $5 to the best dress, scariest, ETC. They would have food and drinks at the dances for the kids so before Mr. Griffith's starts tutting his own horn he better get the story straight and put everything that the PTA did in the paper and not just a few things to make them look bad. Thank you!!!
