Toyota fan

I have a 2009 Toyota Corrolla. I'd like to tell you people, I've had American cars all my life, the last one being a Chrysler. I had four water pumps installed in it. The corporate offices wouldn't admit there was a problem with it. I'll keep my Toyota.

Rose-tinted

I think that while they are manufacturing the 3-D glasses in Shamokin they should manufacture some kind of rose-colored glasses to wear when you are driving through the area so that way everything looks beautiful instead of crappy and gross. Frog's take: Way to take some good news and sour it. That's just what we need.

Made in the U.S.A.

Congratulations to D/E Associates and everyone involved in that 3-D glasses company. May your industry grow by leaps and bounds. It will be wonderful to see "made in the U.S.A." again, but be careful that China doesn't get a piece of the American pie.

Sidewalkin'

I agree with the person who said the people who have chairs and bikes out on Locust Street in Mount Carmel should clean up the sidewalk and put their junk in the yard. They have a huge backyard and there is no reason to take up the sidewalk with this junk. Furthermore, they need to fix their sidewalk. It is raised up because of tree roots and at night it is very hard to see. I hope the code enforcement officer fines them and makes them clean up. I saw an elderly man almost fall because there is no way around this mess. Sidewalks are for walking on, not for storing junk.

It's better

Oh, I see, something is better than nothing, huh? When a new light bulb costs $7, that means someone has to work for an hour to buy one bulb. Now that's living. Do the math, man, 1.5 million glasses a month. Just figure at a $1 profit per pair what that comes to per year - $18 million. Granted, there's overhead and utilities and other expenses, but come on now. Frog's take: We reported the sales of the glasses at from 50 cents to $1 each, so deduct your expenses from that and the profit can't be $1 each. Either way, we don't know for sure what they'll pay and hope it's well above minimum wage so it can make a difference. And by the response, a lot of people DO want these jobs.

Lap dog

Why won't Chris Carney tell his constituents how he intends to vote? It's simple, so simple; I feel stupid for not seeing this sooner. Because we all know the bill is in its final form and government-paid abortions are in it, it will not change. Chris Carney is on thin ice and he knows it.

Signs of spring

Isn't it exciting to know spring is just around the corner? Some signs so far are the many flocks of geese, the little birds chirping early in the morning, and out of hibernation for this year is the City "Dirt Spreader" (aka street sweeper). I see the lovely muddy, swirls and dirt piles left behind by this good-for-nothing, waste of money. Happy spring!

Never learn

Why is it that day after day, every day, there are idiots in the paper for DUI? That's driving after you've been drinking for those who don't understand and need explaining. One day it will be DOA instead. Hopefully you and not the innocent other guy. Will you never learn?

Politically motivated

The firing of Joseph Bass and Marian Muldowney was politically motivated. Why else would they do it three weeks before election? The could have waited till the council reorganization meeting and not reappoint them. But I guess they weren't sure if they would win and needed the dirty work done. It has already been decided that they deserved unemployment benefits. How much more money are they going to throw out on a mistake that should not have happened in the first place?

Do not pass

Obamacare is about government versus the people. It is about achieving that tipping point from a free market economy to a socialized one and from constitutional self-governance to something far less democratic. It must not pass. Call Carney and let his office know how you feel. It's a local call!

Great big shout outs to the Coal Twp road crew for the fantastic job they did sweeping the streets the old fashioed way! It is much appreciated!

Did you ever take notice The ones that moan about working a seven dollar wage job, are not worth five dollars. But hay I'd take a 3 dollar an hour job if it meant putting food on the table for my kids...

Good luck on the Carney thing. I called and emailed both him and Altimare and it seems like both are leaning to "yes" votes without just coming out and saying it. That's why they want to pass this the "Slaughter" way, so they don't have to attach themselves to it and have to face the people when they visit their districts. These people refuse to grow a "set" and take any responsibility for their actions.
