SELINSGROVE - The importance of having a colonoscopy to screen for early signs of colorectal cancer is widely discussed during National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March, but few people have gotten the inside view of a colon their physicians see during that screening.

That can change Saturday, when Geisinger Health System conducts a wellness expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Susquehanna Valley Mall. The event features the chance to walk through a large inflatable colon that is 30 feet long, 10 feet tall and 13 feet wide.

In addition to the doctor's eye view of a colon, attendees can participate in a question/answer session with Geisinger doctors, speak with a pharmacist, sign up for Silver Circle and gather wellness information. There will be games and activities for children.

Participants can also turn in an old child car safety seat to receive a $5 gift card, while supplies last.
