Trevorton Senior Adult Ministry
The Trevorton Senior Adult Ministry met at St. Patrick Church hall Sept. 17 for the monthly meeting.
There were 33 members present. The meeting opened with the Senior Adult Ministry Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
September birthday celebrants were introduced: Members Celeste Blascovich, Anita Lagerman, Scott Rodson, Ann Rodson, Lavon Swank and William Webber and lifetime member Irene Steinhart. "Happy Birthday" was sung to all celebrants. Birthday cakes were brought by Ann Robson and Rose Marie Kopyscanski and donuts were provided by William Webber. Birthday donations were made by Charlotte Faust, Joyce Thomas, Joe Carabini and Scott Robson. The Patsies extended thanks to all who brought these refreshments.
The treasurer report was presented by Mary Ellen Hoffman and approved as read.
The secretary's report was read by Edwina Savidge, and was also approved as read.
Joyce Koppen gave a travel report of the next Patsies trip to the American Music Theatre on Nov. 1 at a cost of $68, including bus, show and buffet at Shady Maples Restaurant. There is a waiting list for this trip. Contact Joyce at 797-3695 or Judie at 648-0105 for more information regarding departure times.
The group welcomed two new members present at the meeting: Mary Ebersole and Barbara Reinoehl.
Joyce and Colleen Koppen graciously volunteered to help with opening and closing of the hall and their services are appreciated. The annual Octoberfest/Halloween covered dish meeting will be held Oct. 15.
October birthday celebrants are asked to make a monetary donation in addition to bringing a covered dish.
The next regular meeting is Oct. 19 and the Christmas banquet will be held Dec. 17. The event will be catered by Hannah's Restaurant in Trevorton, serving a full roast pork dinner with all the trimmings and dessert. The meal will cost $13, and sign up sheets will be available at the October and November meetings. Entertainment will be provided by Billy and Rosie.
Greeting cards were sent to Alvena Miller, Charlotte Fox, Irene Steinhart and Helen Delorso to let them know the other members are thinking and praying for their recovery.
Current membership is 10 lifetime members and 74 paid-up members. Patsies are encouraged to invite friends and neighbors over the age of 50 to come join and enjoy great company and friendships.
The 50/25/25 winners were Stanley Kaleta and Rita Troutman.
The meeting was closed with the "Over 50 Song," and cards and bingo followed the meeting.
