LEXINGTON, Ky. - Tori Elizabeth Reed, of Lexington, recently graduated from Tates Creek High School with high distinction. Commencement was held for 350 students June 3 at the Rupp Arena in Lexington. Reed attended Mount Carmel Area School District until sixth grade.
Reed received numerous recognitions for her academic achievements. As part of her academic transcript, Reed participated in an accelerated program of Advanced Placement and Dual Credit college courses. She was a member of the Beta Club, in which students are required to maintain academic excellence and perform community services. Reed was a member of student council and DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America). Reed was awarded the Kentucky Education Scholarship for her continual outstanding grade point average for all four years of high school.
In addition to Reed's scholarly activities, she remained an active class member. She was co-president for her high school sorority, participated in powder puff football and was a member of the high school and the AAU basketball teams. She also played Lexington club lacrosse.
Reed will be attending the University of Kentucky in Lexington this fall and plans on majoring in political science and hopes to become a lawyer.
Reed is the daughter of Jennifer Reed, of Lexington, and formerly of Shamokin, Pa. She is a granddaughter of Lindy and Janet Reed, of Nicholasville, and a great-granddaughter of Louis Bartos and the late Anna Bartos and the late Harry and Gladys Reed, all of Shamokin.
