PFC Richard Frank Ritter

Rick was born in Williamsport, a son of John and Ruth Ritter. The family moved to Watsontown, where he was a member of the United Methodist Church. He graduated from Warrior Run High School in 1963. He was active in Boy Scouts and was awarded The Order of the Arrow.
Rick entered the service in 1963 and attended basic training at Parris Island and Camp Lejeune, N.C. He was killed by an explosion of a land mine while on a mission with Company A, 3rd Marine Division. He posthumously received the Purple Heart.
He was survived by his wife, Helen; daughter, Sandra; mother, father and a sister.
Rick was 22 years old and is remembered on Panel 16E, Line 86.
