The Moving Wall: Lance Cpl. Carl F. Kroh

Carl was born in Kulpmont, a son of Anna and the late Louis P. Kroh.
He graduated in 1968 from Middlesex County Vocational and Technical School, New Brunswick, N.J. As a youth, Carl enjoyed basketball and skating.
Carl joined the Marines in June 1968. He served as a lance corporal with Company E, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines.
Carl was manning a defensive position about 5 1/2 miles outside Quang Tri Province when an enemy grenade exploded. Carl received fragmentation wounds to the head and body, which resulted in his death.
Carl was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Military Merit Medal and Gallantry Cross with Palm.
Carl was survived by his mother, Anna Radzai, his stepfather, two sisters and a brother.
Carl was 20 years old and is remembered on panel 19W, line 31.
