Sunbury police asking for help solving recent burglaries
SUNBURY - The Sunbury Police Department asks the public's assistance in solving a recent series of burglaries.
Since Jan. 9, several businesses have been burglarized; there have also been several attempted entries. The burglaries have occurred from early evening through late at night, and more than one person could be responsible, police said.
Anyone who notices anything unusual near businesses or residences is urged to immediately call 911 or Northumberland County Emergency Services at 570-988-4539.
Police said they are interested in any information that may lead to the apprehension of these suspected burglars, including descriptions of appearance or clothing, names and stolen items.
Citizens and business owners are urged to use lighting, lock doors and windows and consider private camera systems and alarms as a way to deter burglars.
Anyone with information is urged to call Sunbury Police Department at 570-286-4584, ext. 108.
