SUNBURY - A 22-year-old Sunbury man remained in critical condition late Sunday night after crashing his sport utility vehicle into a parked school bus earlier in the day at the intersection of Walnut Street and Lenker Avenue.

Sunbury Officer Michael Hawkins reported Joshua Radel was extricated from his 1996 GMC sport utility vehicle and flown by Life Flight helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, where he underwent emergency room treatment before being admitted in critical condition, according to a nursing supervisor.

Police said Radel was traveling west on Walnut Street shortly after 4 a.m. when his SUV exited the road and struck a parked 2003 International school bus owned by Amity Leasing.

An investigation is continuing.
