Shamokin NAPA store changes ownership New owners are Trevorton natives, Lourdes grads
SHAMOKIN - Ownership of National Auto Parts, 534 N. Market St., Shamokin, changed hands Dec. 2 to Big Boys NAPA of Sunbury, Millersburg and Northumberland. Big Boys NAPA is owned and operated by brothers Mike and Fred Schlenker, who were born and raised in Trevorton and graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School.
Their father, Mike Sr., owned and operated a service station in Trevorton under the name Trevorton Auto Parts. He moved the store to Walnut Street in Shamokin in the 1960s, before selling the store to purchase NAPA Auto Parts in Selinsgrove, where Mike and Fred got their start.
In 1985, Mike Sr., Mike and Fred purchased Big Boys Auto Parts in Sunbury and converted it into an independent NAPA Auto Parts store. The Millersburg location was added in August 2003. In 2007 they purchased the Northumberland location.
Changes at the Shamokin location include access to over $1 million of inventory, delivery twice daily from three other locations for same-day delivery, and electronic access from businesses to the store's computer system for price checks, parts availability and ordering.
Staff at the Shamokin location include Cindy Mrozowski and Dave Mrozowski, manager.
