Shamokin boy reportedly doing well after near drowning
NORTHUMBERLAND - A 6-year-old Shamokin boy who nearly drowned at Splashland community pool here on June 19 "appears to have fully recovered."
That's what Councilman Greg Carl told those attending the borough meeting Wednesday night, according to a story in Thursday's The Daily Item.
Carl said he has visited the family.
The boy was found at the bottom of the pool and resuscitated before being taken by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, the paper previously reported.
Council members discussed thanking those involved in saving the boy's life at a future meeting, according to the Daily Item's story.
