Senate unanimously confirms Robert Wolfe as county sheriff
HARRISBURG - The Senate of Pennsylvania today unanimously confirmed Robert Wolfe of Coal Township as Northumberland County Sheriff, according to Senator John R. Gordner (R-27). Wolfe has served as acting Sheriff since the January resignation of former Sheriff Chad Reiner, and was nominated for the post by Governor Tom Corbett in April.
"After meeting with Bob and having several conversations with him, I was pleased to support the nomination," said Gordner. "He is very qualified for the position, and a man of personal integrity."
Wolfe served as a Shamokin City Police officer for 20 years, as well as the city's fire chief. He was the chief deputy sheriff of Northumberland County at the time of his nomination.
Wolfe will serve the remainder of the current term of sheriff, through 2015.
