School news: Junior High Pride

MOUNT CARMEL - Seventh-rader Katelin Ivey is the Mount Carmel Area Junior High Pride Award winner for January.

Ivey is a member of the swim team and the High Five Club. A distinguished honor roll student, she earned a PSSA Gold Presidential Award, and placed fourth in the Veterans of Foreign Wars writing contest.

In her community, she helps elderly people in her neighborhood with household chores and errands.

She resides in Kulpmont with her parents, Tom and Rhonda Ivey.
