HUMMELS WHARF - The region's largest travling model railroad is on display at the Susquehanna Valley Mall through Sunday. Loose Ties Model Railroad Club will operate the traveling display, as well as trains made by Weaver's Quality Craft, of Northumberland, MTH and Williams.

A handmade steam locomotive will also be on display.

Three children and their families will get free model trains, courtesy of the Loose Ties Model Railroad Club.

Children under 14 years old accompanied by an adult who attends the exhibit will get a raffle ticket. The winning tickets will be drawn at 3 p.m. Sunday, said Jeff Johnstonbaugh, president of Loose Ties Model Railroad Club. Winners will receive a train set, donated by English's model train store, Montoursville, T&J Train Junction, Danville and members of the club.

Train enthusiasts are encouraged to bring their own model trains to run on the exhibit's tracks.

"You'll get a chance to see that train you had as a child actually make a trip around the layout. You'll be surprised at how well it will run," Johnstonbaugh said.

The exhibit, in the mall atrium near Boscov's, is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
