Power was back Tuesday
SHAMOKIN - Power was restored to all PPL customers in Northumberland County by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
A glitch on the utility's online outage map resulted in 114 outages still showing until as late as midnight Tuesday, said Teri MacBride, regional affairs director for PPL Susquehanna Valley. That resulted in The News-Item's report in Wednesday's edition about the 114 outages still existing, which was inaccurate.
More than 1,800 customers were without power starting Sunday night from a heavy snowfall that brought down trees and branches that snapped power lines throughout eastern Northumberland and southern Columbia counties.
