Organization News: Trevorton Patsies
TREVORTON - Trevorton Patsies celebrated the Halloween season with a covered dish luncheon Oct. 21.
The luncheon started with the Senior Adult Ministry prayer, Pledge of Allegiance and grace before the meal. Twenty-two members attended, with seven garbed in funny costumes.
October birthday celebrants were Kenneth Gurba, Faye Herb, Barbara Leah, JoAnne Pitfido, Mary Ryan and Joyce Thomas. Donations were made by Ben and Celeste Blascovich, John Demas, Charlotte Foust, Anita Lagerman and Bill Webber. Birthday cakes were provided by Pitfido, Ann Robson, Ryan and Thomas.
The club extended sympathies to the William Bohner family. Bohner, who was active in the Patsies for 30 years, passed away Oct. 8. A sympathy card and St. Patrick Church memorial were sent to the family.
Mary Ellen Hoffman gave the treasurer's report, which was approved.
Judie Urick, presenting the travel committee report, said plans are under way to attend the American Music Theatre Christmas shoew Nov. 7 and "Moses" at Sight on Sound on March 27.
The Trevorton Senior Center trip to the Christian Life Assembly Christmas show will be held Dec. 14. Call Joyce Koppen at 570-797-3695 or Urick at 570-648-0105 for additional details.
The Christmas banquet, scheduled for 1 p.m. Dec. 16, will be catered by Hannah's Restaurant. Musical entertainment will provided by Vic Boris on the keyboard with oldies, plus Christmas songs and a sing-along. The menu includes roast pork and all the trimmings, including dessert. Call Rose Marie at 570-648-3035 to register. Registration will also be taken at the November meeting. The final registration date is Dec. 2.
The 50/25/25 winners were Helen Kalejta and Arlene Lubinski.
The next meeting will be held Nov. 18. New members are welcome. Yearly dues are $3. Meetings are held the third Monday of the month.
The "Over 50" song closed the meeting. Bingo was played.
